This event is no longer available to take part in.

This was a new event introduced in 2011. The ride can take place at anytime between January 1st and December 31st. Once the ride is started you have ten days to complete the event.

Those riders and pillions who enter the Extremities Challenge and who also enter The Challenge or Classic will not be required to raise sponsorship money for these additional events, although any amount of sponsorship will be greatly received. They are still required to pay the entrance fee of £3 for either the Challenge or Classic.

Start and finish will be at Durham Tees Valley airport (though the organiser has the discretion to alter this for those who do not live locally).

The rider must visit each of the following extremities of the mainland of Great Britain that are accessible by public road. The exact details of the locations to be visited will be sent out to those who enter the event. The exact details have been kept from public display to prevent plagiarism.

The points to visit in any order are.

  • The most easterly point
  • The most southerly point
  • The most westerly point 1
  • The most westerly point 2
  • The most northerly point
  • The highest road
  • The lowest road
  • The steepest road
  • The highest continuous climb
  • The furthest point from the sea
  • The wettest road

The rider can choose which order to visit them in and which route to take.

The distance covered will be in the region of 2,500 miles depending on the route chosen.

There is an entrance fee of £20 per rider and £20 per pillions. This is to cover the cost of a suitable memento and ‘T’ Shirt.

The riders and pillions are required to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship each.

Those riders and pillions who also enter The Challenge or Classic will not be required to raise sponsorship money these additional events although any amount of sponsorship will be greatly received. They are still required to pay the entrance fee of £3 for either the Challenge or Classic.

An additional challenge, (which although not compulsory is to encourage others to embrace) was to restrict motorway mileage to no more than 5% of the total mileage.
