Santa Ride 2012

The annual Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group Motorcycle Santa Ride that took place on Saturday 8th December 2012 raised an astonishing TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED AND NINE POUNDS AND TWENTY ONE PENCE.

What a fantastic effort by all those concerned.

Here are some of the team.

More than 200 Santa’s on Motorbikes turned out to raise money for Zoe’s Baby Hospice. Further details can be found on the forum at;

The route for this year’s Santa Ride has been checked and we can find nothing that would prevent  the ride taking place.

The main roads which the ride will take place on are free of ice. However care needs to be taken on some ‘Estate’ roads because ice is still present on areas that have not been treated.

The decision as to whether or not riders/pillions take part in the Santa Ride rests solely with those individuals who have entered and not the organisers.

We have nearly 200 entrants taking part this year which is the highest number to date and is the maximum that can be catered for.

On your arrival at Thornaby Fire Station you will be under the control of the Marshalls as to where to park. Once parked please go to reception.

Hot drinks and toilets will be available.

For those that have not collected their Santa suits from Zoë’s, they will be waiting for you at reception.

Don’t forget to bring you cameras.

There will be a final briefing at 11.15am and we will start at 11.30am prompt.

Please make sure you have read the Final Instructions that have been sent out especially the part that refers to the ‘staggered’ riding system.

On our arrival at Kirkleatham Hall we will park in an area that has been set aside for us.

Please make your way to the pavilion where Karen and Gill will hand out the ‘Bacon Butty’ tickets.

In the pavilion the Cleveland Police Band will be playing and also a number of members from the Apollo Male Voice Choir have agreed to come along and sing some Christmas Carol’s.

Tomorrows ride is one of those days everyone looks forward to. Previous events have been very well received by members of the public.

Once again please take care getting to the start and follow the instructions of the organisers/Police whilst taking part in the event.

Many thanks.

Brian

Have spoken to Phil at Whitby Coaches and this year we will be using this bus. It affords more protection against the elements.
