Councillor Pauline Charlton who only recently took up her post as Chair of  Durham County Council came to the remembrance service for Serviceman Lee Rigby which was held by the Sedgefield Veterans Association on Tuesday 28th May 2013.

Following the service which was very well attended she posed for some pictures on Micky’s bike.

The following is a message from Sedgefield Veterans Association.

“We are going to hold a memorial service at the Flagpole on Sedgefield Village green on Tuesday 28th May at 10-45hrs to honour the life of Drummer Lee Rigby, aged 25  of the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and to mourn his violent death on an English street at the hands of terrorists.

As usual Boundary 500 members will be going to show their support. A number of members will be going on motorcycle and are meeting from 9am – 10am at the Cafe, Morrison’s Superstore on the Darlington Ring Road, near the ‘Brick Train’.
They will be leaving Morrison’s at 10am for the ride to Sedgefield.

A new event is being added to the Groups list of Challenges. For the first time cyclists will be able to take part. The event is called the Coast 2 Coast and will involve travelling from Redcar Beacon to Whitehaven Beacon. There will be a number of set locations to visit  The event will be restricted to cyclists and motorcycles the engine size of which will not exceed 125cc. However motorcycles of any size cubic capacity will be allowed providing the said machine was registered before 1st January 1960.

Lee Robinson and Graham Snaith are the first entrants for this new event and they set off on the Challenge on Saturday 1st June 2013 from Redcar Beacon. The duo were waved off by the Deputy Leader of Redcar and Cleveland Council Councillor Sheelagh Clarke who like the Council are big supporters of the Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group.
